Nathan Dies is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. His music blends the textures of experimental electronic music with the rhythmic and melodic sensibilities of Brazilian songwriting. Drawing from drum machines, textural synths, and nylon-string guitar, his sound sits somewhere between James Blake and Milton Nascimento.
His 2024 album Laila (YB Music) marked a breakout moment, launching with a sold-out show at Public Records in New York and a European tour, featuring both solo performances and a quartet with Mauro Refosco, Kely Pinheiro, and Pascale. Known for his immersive and dynamic live performances, Nathan creates an intimate yet expansive atmosphere that resonates with audiences across genres.
Beyond his own work, Nathan is a sought-after producer, musical director, and instrumentalist, collaborating with a diverse range of artists. He produced Alici’s debut LP and led musical direction for her first US tour with Hope Tala. He also produced Sophie Hunter's On The Radar and directed her US/Canada tour supporting Sleigh Bells. As a bassist, he performed with Marem Ladson, opening for Helado Negro, and as a live sound engineer, he has worked with artists such as Sister Sledge, Busta Rhymes, RAYE, José James, and Samara Joy.
With a growing international presence, a compelling live show, and a deeply personal yet forward-thinking artistic vision, Nathan is carving out a space where experimental soundscapes meet raw emotional depth. As he continues touring Laila and developing new music, he is actively expanding his team to bring his evolving sound to new audiences.
